Molly McGee HewittKeynote Speaker (8th July)
Molly is the Executive Director and CEO of NAPT and brings over 25 years of experience in public education, association management and leadership. She previously served in executive leadership positions with two large and prestigious educational associations, the California School Boards Association, and the California Association of School Business Officials (CASBO), where she served as CEO. Her experience includes serving as a classroom teacher, administrator and school board member serving public schools. She has authored four books, over 200 blogs and articles and has delivered speeches across the United States and South America. She has also served as a consultant and advisor to school systems, associations, and for profit and not for profit organizations. Molly has a B.S. in organizational development, an M.S. in school business leadership, and a Ph.D. in adult and community education and training. She is also a credentialed certified association executive. She serves on numerous boards including EdSource. Molly is the recipient of over 200 Awards and Commendations including honors from the United States Senate and Congress, the Governor of California, The California State Assembly and Senate and the city of Anaheim, County of Orange, the California School Boards Association, CASBO, and ASBO International. |
Frank Marasco

| Frank Marasco is a senior transportation operations and management professional with more than 30 years of experience advising and supporting public-sector transportation systems across Canada. His work focuses on operational performance, regulatory compliance, fleet modernization, and the responsible deployment of emerging technologies. Frank serves on multiple boards and committees, representing Canadian jurisdictions and the Pacific Northwest. In this capacity, he contributes to governance, stakeholder engagement, and the advancement of evidence-based best practices transportation. Throughout his career, Frank has worked at the intersection of industry and government, supporting school authorities, transportation providers, and public agencies with large-scale procurement, zero-emission fleet transitions, infrastructure planning, and funding alignment. He has extensive experience collaborating with provincial and federal ministries, regulatory bodies, and professional associations. Frank is also an experienced trainer and presenter, delivering technical and policy-informed sessions on route management, safety standards, and fleet electrification. He is recognized for his pragmatic approach, strong stakeholder relationships, and ability to align policy objectives with operational realities. |
Debra Howeihe

As a retired Director of Transportation, Debra brings over 35 years of student transportation experience to our conference. Over the years she has taken numerous courses strengthening her ability to provide the most current school bus courses available to transportation personnel. Debra is a Certified Director of Transportation registered with the National Association of Student Transportation (NAPT). This designation allows her to provide a variety of student transportation courses designed to enhance your expertise in the field. Debra is inspired daily by her husband and family. Currently residing in the Okanagan, she enjoys hiking and water sports. |
Sherry Kristjanson

| Sherry Kristjanson is the Director of Transportation for School District No. 73 (Kamloops-Thompson). She brings over 22 years of experience in transportation, including 13 years specific to student transportation with SD73, where she leads the planning and delivery of safe, efficient, and reliable transportation services for students across the district. Sherry is a Certified Director of Transportation through the National Association for Pupil Transportation (NAPT) and is actively involved in advancing the profession provincially. She currently serves as Second Vice President of the Association of School Transportation Services of British Columbia (ASTSBC) and has contributed to the organization’s executive for 13 years. |

With 25+ years of experience, Shane has led projects across sectors, including work with Disney Online Studios, the BC Construction Safety Alliance, and the Vancouver Division of Family Practice. Jim Berladyn
EV High Voltage Certification Training (7th July)
Jim is the CSA certified EV Instructor of Motive Power at the BCIT School of Transportation, but Jim’s journey in the automotive industry began as a student at BCIT, where he successfully earned his Red Seal certification in 1993. Over the course of a career spanning 22 years, he served as a dedicated technician at Mazda. Jim joined BCIT’s Electric Vehicle program in 2019, immersing himself in the rapidly evolving world of electric vehicles where he has been consistently developing and delivering new content since then. With the release of the newly advanced second EV course, he is looking ahead to match industries growth at making a third to keep up with constant demand. |
David Lewis
Allison Technician Training (8th July)
David Lewis is a Trainer/Technician employed at ABC Transmission, bringing with him 20 years of transmission expertise. David has served as a technician at ABC since 2017 and assumed the role of Allison Transmission Trainer for British Columbia in 2020.
Cam Stauffer
IC Electric Vehicle Technician Training (8th July)
Cam Stauffer has a long-dedicated career in the transportation industry. After starting his career in trucking in 1995, he soon found his passion as a technician with a local International dealership. Within a few years, he had completed his Heavy Equipment Technician training and quickly moved up to a shop foreman. Over the years, he dedicated his time to building his technical knowledge and customer relationships within the International brand. He spent 7 years as a Service Manager and Service Support specialist before moving into his current role as a District Service Manager for International Motors Canada ULC for Western Canada. As part of his current role, he has spent the last few years as an integral team member in the launch of the IC Bus EV product in Western Canada. Cam is well versed in all aspects of International's EV technology.
Dany Veipans
Circular Economy of Tires and Tire Materials (9th July)
Dany is the Procurement & Remanufacturing Specialist at Kal Tire, a family-owned business founded in Vernon, B.C. in 1953. Dany partners with fleets and commercial organizations to measure and optimize the environmental impact of their tire procurement. Using Kal Tire's proprietary Carbon Kalculator, Dany calculates the tangible CO2 reductions and material savings—including rubber, steel, and carbon black—gained every time a quality tire is retreaded for another full life. |
Det Detmers
Multiplexing Technician Training (9th July)
Grew up a farm boy using old equipment. That likely nurtured the aptitude to become an automotive and heavy duty mechanic later on. A few different jobs but spent 20 some years with Cummins, first on the shop floor, then as field service and lastly with the training department for about ten of those years. As of late, Det has been home more, farming a bit again, taking on mechanical repair work at their own shop and doing some training again, some with the college in Lethbridge Alberta and a few of the presentations like this one at the ASTSBC conference.
